Additionally, be aware that the Township is actively pursuing residents who choose to burn on our roadways. Burning on our roadways does irreparable damage and causes unnecessary repairs and expenses.

Sweeping - Springfield Road
Groveland Township and Tazewell County Highway Department has an agreement for sweeping. Twice a year (once in Spring and once in Fall) our Road District sweeps Springfield Road between Queenwood and Route 98. In return, Tazewell County does some striping of roads for the Township.
Township Residents within our Road Maintenance Boundaries
We now require a Performance Permit for any work done in the right-of-way, by homeowner, or those whom the homeowner contracts for any kind of entry way work, including driveways or landscaping that might encroach the right of way. If in doubt, call the office at (309) 387-6812, and we will advise you as to what - if anything - you need to do as far as permits. You can reach us Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am-4pm, If we don’t answer, leave a message, and someone will return your call as soon as possible.
Township Residents within our Street Maintenance
Due to the fact that we have nowhere to go with our leaves, we are asking that you please help us out by raking your leaves and disposing of them.
PLEASE do not blow/mow them into the street. If the drains plug, then so do most septic systems. This could potentially cause some extreme issues within some subdivisions.
