Monday, October 13, 2025 – Saturday, October 18, 2025Tazewell County is hosting a free tire collection at multiple locations throughout the county the week of October 13th-18th. Appointment is required to attend, and you may only sign up for one time slot per household. Residents can bring up to 12 tires (on the rim and any size) to one of thirteen convenient drop-off locations. This event is for residents only; tires from commercial entities will not be accepted. A government-issued ID is required to verify your appointment. This event is made possible through a partnership with local municipalities and the IEPA. Waste tires left outside can collect water, creating breeding grounds for mosquitoes. One scrap tire can lead to the breeding of thousands of mosquitoes over a single season. Removing these tires helps reduce the risk of mosquito-borne illnesses.
