John Arnold moved to approve the re-appointment of William Beebe to the Groveland                                                          Township Water District Board of Trustees, seconded by: Tony Feger 

Discussion: Trustee Feger requests the town clerk to send a letter to the Groveland Water District Board inviting William Beebe and William Seidel to the monthly township meeting.

Tony Feger moved to approve the recommendations for the mechanical bids, seconded by: John Arnold  

Discussion: Trustee Arnold asked if any of the bidders were union. Road commissioner Risinger stated that Schwartz is. Trustee Arnold also asked if First Builders will start after the bids are accepted. Supervisor McCormick states yes ….probably within a week. Trustee Arnold asked how many rooms are in the new building. Supervisor McCormick stated that there is a library, 2 bathrooms, an office, mechanical room, and a storeroom. Trustee Shaw asked if heating and air conditioning is standard or geo-thermal. Supervisor McCormick stated its standard.

  1. Discussion of ways to increase revenue and decrease cost. Road commissioner Risinger stated they spend more than they take in. His suggestions for cost-cutting were just do road work that was absolutely necessary, reduce mowing, reduce the temperature in the shop, reduce employment to 3 days per week and follow up with un-employment compensation. Supervisor McCormick stated maybe need to pass referendum to obtain more money for permanent road. Also move money from road & bridge to permanent road. Finally to try to cut $45,000 of G.A. budget.

 

                       

Road Report: Road commissioner Risinger gave the floor to John Replogle to explain the FY 2010 Rural Local Agency Traffic Sign Upgrade Program. A copy was distributed to the board. Mr. Replogle also stated that Springfield Road will be widened from Rt. 98 to corporate limits. Road commissioner Risinger stated he was looking forward to putting new signs up.

Assessor’s Report: Assessor Hiller reported that one of the duties of the assessor is to visit all construction sites and document the % of completion. A major problem performing this duty is snow and non-accessible roads. Assessor Hiller asked if the township insurance covered his personal vehicle while on township business. Road commissioner stated that since he was compensated for his mileage that he thought it was not. Supervisor McCormick stated he would check with TOIRMA and get back with him.
